"Visual subliminal 'programming' by means of short phrases flashed on screen very briefly (technically referred to as tachiscopic presentation) is an increasingly popular form of subliminal suggestion because it does not interfere in any way with other tasks that are being carried out at the same time. The idea is that messages regularly appear on-screen for a very short period (a few tens of milliseconds) - too brief for the conscious mind to read, but long enough for the subconscious mind to pick up the 'afterimage' and absorb the message subliminally.
There is a good body of evidence which supports the effectiveness of this approach for people who spend some time in front of their computers. A number of software applications are now available which use this technique, and MindZoom is one of these.
However, the author of this software has added a unique twist: in addition to the tachiscopic 'screen flash' system he has also incorporated a 'silent subliminal messaging' function which is not available in any other similar product that I am aware of.
The combination seems to have great potential, so I decided to take a closer look.
The program interface
When you start the program it opens the main configuration screen, which has a number of boxes and buttons. If you are at all familiar with this type of software, you will not need any instructions - everything is pretty much self explanatory. However, the author has provided a comprehensive help system which explains how the Mindzoom controls work, and also provides sound guidelines on constructing your own affirmations. The help pages even include a detailed 4-week program for achieving any chosen goal using the facilities provided within Mindzoom.
To get you started there are 65 categories of ready-made affirmations, each containing a series of well-written affirmations relating to the category. But you are not in any way stuck with these - a built-in text editor allows you to add, remove or edit the contents of any category, add new categories and write completely new sets of affirmations.
This means that you can write your own personal 'custom' affirmations for any purpose, and this will be especially useful if English is not your first language and you need to create affirmation sets in your own language.
But the most intriguing feature is the 'Activate Silent Subliminal Messaging' tick box near the bottom of the configuration page.

What does the 'Silent Subliminal' option do??
'Silent subliminals' are spoken subliminal suggestions which are processed in a way that shifts the sound spectrum into a very high frequency range just below the limit of audibility. This has the effect of making these 'silent subliminal' messages inaudible at a conscious level, but the high volume level ensures they are heard and understood subconsciously.
The principle was developed and demonstrated by US aerospace engineer, O.M. Lowery as a way to deliver subliminal suggestions at a volume level that would not be possible using traditional 'sound masked' subliminal recordings.
In the Mindzoom program, when this function is enabled the text of the subliminal suggestions that appears on-screen is simultaneously converted into speech at a very high frequency and sent to your computer's speakers. Consciously you don't hear anything, but at a subconscious level the message is heard and understood. This means that every message flashed on the screen is simultaneously reinforced by a corresponding 'silent' subliminal message - and this happens thousands of times an hour (or as many times as you choose).
There is a test button on the control panel that allows you to check that this facility is operating correctly.
